Open Positions

Forestry Mulcher Operator (Full‑Time)

 

Location: Brookneal, VA
Service Area: Approximately a 2‑hour radius
Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours
Pay: $22–$28 per hour (based on experience)

​

What You’ll Do

  • Operate a skid steer equipped with a forestry mulcher

  • Clear brush, saplings, and overgrown land

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

  • Run equipment on job sites once instructions are provided

 

Experience

  • Equipment experience preferred, not required

  • Willing to train the right person

  • Mechanical awareness and respect for equipment are important

 

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Reliable transportation

  • Willingness to travel within our service area

  • Dependable and punctual

  • Comfortable working outdoors

 

Land Management Sales Representative

 

HCS Mulching is looking for a motivated Sales Representative to help manage and grow incoming work.

​

This role is for someone who is comfortable following up on leads, generating their own opportunities, meeting clients in person, and closing jobs.

 

You’ll be working directly with landowners to assess properties and recommend solutions.

​

Location:
Based in Brookneal, VA
Service area is approximately a 2-hour radius

​

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on inbound leads (calls, messages, website inquiries)

  • Generate your own leads through networking, referrals, and outreach

  • Meet clients on job sites to assess land clearing needs

  • Communicate job scope clearly and professionally

  • Close jobs and hand off details to operations

  • Maintain organized notes on leads and estimates

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and follow-up skills

  • Comfortable meeting clients face-to-face on job sites

  • Self-motivated and organized

  • Able to explain services clearly and confidently

  • Willing to travel within service area

Sales experience is preferred, but industry experience is not required. We will train the right person on our services and pricing approach.

Compensation

  • Base pay + commission or commission-only (to be discussed)

  • Performance-based growth opportunity

 

Schedule

  • Flexible weekday schedule

  • Some daytime travel required
